Way Too Early 2020 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

ree

A lot has changed since our last mock draft. Tua got hurt, Joe Burrow beat the Crimson Tide, and the Falcons are good? This season has been absolutely insane and now we have a new contender for the #1 pick. Here is the third edition of our way to early NFL mock draft.

1.) Cincinnati Bengals - Joe Burrow, Quarterback, LSU

Height: 6’4” Weight: 216 lbs

Burrow has emerged as the new number one pick after taking down Tua and the Crimson Tide. Burrow’s accuracy and touch are impeccable, the only question is in his arm strength.

2.) Washington Redskins - Andrew Thomas, Tackle, Georgia

Height: 6’5” Weight: 320 lbs

Dwayne Haskins has been sacked 14 times in only 4 games played. The Redskins desperately need to protect the future and they can do that with an elite tackle like Thomas.

3.) New York Giants - Chase Young, Edge Rusher, Ohio State

Height: 6’5” Weight: 265 lbs

After trading Olivier Vernon during the offseason, the Giants need an elite pass rusher to help out that defense. Young is the next great Ohio State edge rusher and should have similar success to the Bosa brothers.

4.) Miami Dolphins - Justin Herbert, Quarterback, Oregon

Height: 6’6” Weight: 237 lbs

Tua’s fractured hip and injury prone college career scares the Dolphins away at number four. They take the biggest arm in this class to be the face of their franchise.

5.) New York Jets - Jerry Jeudy, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Height: 6’1” Weight: 182 lbs

After trading OBJ in the offseason, the Giants need an electric receiver to replace him. Jeudy, the former Biletnikoff winner, is a dynamic playmaker with great hands. He will help Danny Dimes out tremendously.

6.) Denver Broncos - Derrick Brown, Defensive Tackle, Auburn

Height: 6’5” Weight: 318 lbs

The Broncos defensive line is already scary, but pairing a freak like Derrick Brown with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb could make it unstoppable. Brown is a phenomenal run-stopper and can provide much needed interior pass-rush for Denver.

7.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jeff Okudah, Cornerback, Ohio State

Height: 6’1” Weight: 200 lbs

The Bucs released former first-round corner Vernon Hargreaves III last week and need to replace him. Okudah is the most complete corner in this class and will help the Tampa secondary.

8.) Atlanta Falcons - AJ Epenesa, Edge Rusher, Iowa

Height: 6’6” Weight: 280 lbs

The Falcons decide it's time to move on from former first-rounder Vic Beasley. The big defensive end from Iowa had a slow start to the season but has racked up six sacks in the past six games. Epenesa is much bigger than Beasley and will hopefully be much more productive.

9.) Arizona Cardinals - Tristan Wirfs, Tackle, Iowa

Height: 6’5” Weight: 322 lbs

Rookie QB Kyler Murray has been phenomenal for the Cardinals this season, but he’s the second most sacked quarterback in the league. The Cardinals have to find ways to protect Murray and that starts with Wirfs.

10.) Detroit Lions - Grant Delpit, Safety, LSU

Height: 6’3” Weight: 203 lbs

The Lions need to get some secondary help after trading star safety Quadree Diggs to the Seahawks before the trade deadline. Delpit is a tremendous talent who can bolster an already good Lion’s defense.

11.) Los Angeles Chargers - Tua Tagovailoa, Quarterback, Alabama

Height: 6’1” Weight: 218 lbs

Philip Rivers has taken a major step back from last year. The Chargers are 4-7 and Rivers had his fourth multiple-interception game against the Chiefs. Even with his injury-prone resume, the Chargers can’t pass up on the dynamic Tagovailoa.

12.) Jacksonville Jaguars - CeeDee Lamb, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma

Height: 6’2” Weight: 195 lbs

The Jags need another dynamic wideout to compliment DJ Chark. The Oklahoma product has good size and is explosive after the catch. He will be a big weapon for Nick Foles.

13.) Oakland Raiders (from Bears) - Isaiah Simmons, Linebacker, Clemson

Height: 6’4” Weight: 230 lbs

Free agent acquisition Vontaze Burfict seems to get suspended every time he touches the field and that doesn’t help an already shallow Raiders linebacking corps. Simmons is an athletic freak and a tackling machine. He will be a great addition to an already young Raider defense.

14.) Cleveland Browns - Calvin Throckmorton, Tackle, Oregon

Height: 6’5” Weight: 309 lbs

The Browns offense has been stagnant this season, mainly due to poor offensive line play. The Browns need a good pass-blocking tackle to give Baker Mayfield more time to throw. Throckmorton is a four year starter who has played all over the line. His ability as a pass-blocker will make him a perfect fit in the Dawg Pound.

15.) Tennessee Titans - Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge Rusher, Penn State

Height: 6’5” Weight: 264 lbs

The Titans lack a consistent pass-rusher outside of Harold Landry. Gross-Matos has a very similar build to Landry and can stand up and rush the passer at outside linebacker or put his hand in the ground as a defensive end. Gross-Matos is explosive off the edge, both as a pass-rusher and run-stopper.

16.) Carolina Panthers - Kristian Fulton, Cornerback, LSU

Height: 6’0” Weight: 200 lbs

Carolina’s secondary has been surprisingly good this season, but they could use some extra help. Fulton has had an outstanding career at LSU. He’s not a ball-hawk, but is exceptional in coverage.

17.) Philadelphia Eagles - Tee Higgins, Wide Receiver, Clemson

Height: 6’4” Weight: 215 lbs

On paper, the Eagles’ receiving corps looks like one of the best in the nation with Alshon Jeffery, Desean Jackson, and Nelson Agholor. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been the case. Jeffery and Jackson have been dealing with injuries all season and Agholor has been struggling with drops. At 6’4”, Higgins has a large catch radius and good speed for his size. He can help the Philly offense get back on track.

18.) Miami Dolphins (from Steelers) - Henry Ruggs III, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Height: 6’0” Weight: 190 lbs

After drafting Justin Herbert to be their franchise quarterback, the Dolphins get him a weapon. Ruggs is one of the many talented Alabama wideouts and has elite speed. The deep ball connection between Herbert and Ruggs should be one of beauty.

19.) Oakland Raiders - KJ Hamler, Wide Receiver, Penn State

Height: 5’9” Weight: 176 lbs

Hamler is another freaky fast receiver in this deep class. He plays mostly in the slot at Penn State, but could potentially move to the outside. He has a very similar body type and style of play to guys like Antonio Brown, Tyreek Hill, and Marquise Brown. Hamler will be a great replacement for AB in Jon Gruden’s offense.

20.) Jacksonville Jaguars (from Rams) - CJ Henderson, Cornerback, Florida

Height: 6’1” Weight: 202 lbs

It all comes full circle for the Jags as they replace Jalen Ramsey with the pick the Rams gave them for Ramsey. Henderson is phenomenal in man coverage and has the speed and long arms to be elite in the NFL.

21.) Dallas Cowboys - Javon Kinlaw, Defensive Tackle, South Carolina

Height: 6’6” Weight: 310 lbs

The Cowboys’ defensive interior has been very lackluster this season. They’re giving up over 100 rushing yards per game and only account for 3 of the team’s 26 sacks. Kinlaw will immediately help bolster the defense interior and take some pressure off of the defensive ends and linebackers.

22.) Indianapolis Colts - Trevon Diggs, Cornerback, Alabama

Height: 6’2” Weight: 207 lbs

The Colts secondary gives up the fourth highest opposing completion percentage in the league. Diggs is a long, aggressive, physical corner who is very good in man coverage. He will help that completion percentage go down.

23.) Miami Dolphins (from Texans) - K’Lavon Chaisson, Edge Rusher, LSU

Height: 6’4” Weight: 250 lbs

The Dolphins grab a pass-rusher with lots of upside. Chaisson is an athletic freak, but has struggled to produce at LSU due to injuries. He needs to bulk up a bit, but he’s super explosive off the line of scrimmage and has all the tools to be an elite pass-rusher.

24.) Kansas City Chiefs - Dylan Moses, Linebacker, Alabama

Height: 6’3” Weight: 235 lbs

Moses suffered a torn ACL before the season started and won’t play all year. When he did play, he was an All-American caliber player. Even though he hasn’t played since 2018, the Chiefs have to take a chance on him due to their weak linebacking corps.

25.) Buffalo Bills - Laviska Shenault Jr, Wide Receiver, Colorado

Height: 6’2” Weight: 220 lbs

The Bills are in a prime position right now. Excluding the Patriots, they are in a weak division. They don’t even have to be a good team to make the playoffs, but it will help in the playoff games if they can give Josh Allen a little bit of help. Shenault is exceptional after the catch and is a big target Josh Allen can get the ball to.

26.) Minnesota Vikings - Creed Humphrey, Guard, Oklahoma

Height: 6’5” Weight: 315 lbs

You can never have enough good offensive linemen. Especially when you run the ball as much as Minnesota does. Humphrey is bruiser who relies on his size and strength more than his athleticism. He will help open up the run game for Dalvin Cook, who is already having a monster season.

27.) Baltimore Ravens - Terrell Lewis, Edge Rusher, Alabama

Height: 6’5” Weight: 252 lbs

After losing Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith in free agency, the Ravens pass-rush hasn’t been the same. They finished last season ranked 13th in total sacks, but rank 25th so far this season. Lewis has a high motor and is extremely physical off the edge. He can drop into coverage from his outside linebacker position, which is perfect in Baltimore’s 3-4 scheme.

28.) New Orleans Saints - Jalen Reagor, Wide Receiver, TCU

Height: 5’11” Weight: 195 lbs

Ted Ginn Jr is getting old and the Saints need someone to replace his blazing speed. Reagor has that blazing speed and is a great runner in the open field. The Saints offense can become even more dangerous with Reagor.

29.) Seattle Seahawks - Paulson Adebo, Cornerback, Stanford

Height: 6’1” Weight: 190 lbs

The Seahawks give up the fourth most passing yards per game in the league. Adebo is a long corner with good instincts and ball skills. He’s a two year starter with 8 interceptions and 27 passes defended so far in his career. He will fit in nicely, opposite of Shaquil Griffin.

30.) Green Bay Packers - Kenneth Murray, Linebacker, Oklahoma

Height: 6’2” Weight: 243 lbs

Outside of Blake Martinez, the Packer’s linebacking corps is very weak. Murray is an athletic linebacker with good sideline to sideline range and will help take some stress off of Marinez to make every play.

31.) San Francisco 49ers - Tyler Johnson, Wide Receiver, Minnesota

Height: 6’2” Weight: 205 lbs

Despite having the fourth highest on-target-throws percentage, the 49ers have one of the highest drop percentages in the league. Johnson is a big receiver with great hands. He’s not very fast, but his hands make up for it. He will help the 49ers’ offense take the extra step they need in the passing game.

32.) New England Patriots - Pat Freiermuth, Tight End, Penn State

Height: 6’5” Weight: 256 lbs

The Pats need to find a long-term replacement for Gronk. While Freiermuth is not the blocker that Gronk was, he is a matchup nightmare with extreme athleticism from the tight end position. He can turn into Tom Brady’s new favorite target in New England.
